We use the quadratic formula: $3x^{2}+2x+2=0$ $x=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^{2}-4ac}}{2a}=\frac{-(2)\pm\sqrt{(2)^{2}-4(3)(2)}}{2(3)}=\frac{-2\pm\sqrt{4-24}}{6}=\frac{-2\pm\sqrt{-20}}{6}$ We can't take the square root of a negative, so there are no (real) solutions.
