(a) In this case we have double inequality $0\leq y \leq 2$, which can also be written as: $y\leq2$ $y\geq0$ So, the region is in betwwen the lines $y=0$ and $y=2$. Note, it is closed interval, so the points on the lines are included. Also see the image above. (b) In this case we have a single restriction $y>2$. So any value of $y$ above $y=2$ line is appropriate. Since it's open interval (strict inequality) we must not include the points on the line $y=2$ Also see the image above.
