Chapter 5 - Section 5.4 - Multiplying Polynomials - Exercise Set - Page 290: 97

Answer

To find the product of two polynomials, use the concept of the Distributive Property which is given by $a(b+c)=ab+ac.$ That is, the first term of the first polynomial will be distributed/multiplied to each of the terms of the second polynomial. Then the second term of the first polynomial will be distributed/multiplied to each of the terms of the second polynomial, and so on. Finally, combine any like terms.

Work Step by Step

Extend the concept of the Distributive Property.
