Most of the book's characters are teenagers who are experiencing love and betrayal for the first time. Tris is Nick's ex-girlfriend, and she is jealous of him because he is now with Norah. Tris has a new boyfriend, but she is still feeling affection for Nick, but her behavior is unbecoming. Norah is faking her relationship with Nick to make Tris jealousy. However, Nick starts to like Norah, and he starts taking him as his girlfriend. When Norah's ex-boyfriend appears, Nick feels insecure and jealous.
