Answer

Primary Structure in amino acid sequence is maintained by the peptide bonds, secondary structure is maintained by the peptide backbones of amino acids close together in adjacent neighbouring chains. Tertiary structure is maintained by interactions between R groups of amino acids separated at long distances in the chain sequence. These interactions are hydrogen bonding, disulfide linkage, hydrophobic interactions. These interactions also maintain quaternary structure but in between amino acids.
