Proteins are the workhouse of molecules in living organisms and are involved in virtually all facets of cell structures and functions. Ex; Enzymes are proteins that act as catalysts in biochemical reactions and enable these chemical reactions. Without enzymes, life would be impossible. Proteins are also the structural elements of muscle,skin and cartilage. They transport oxygen in the blood , act as antibodies to fight diseases and function as hormones to regulate the metabolic processes.
