Chapter P - Section P.9 - Linear Inequalities and Absolute Value Inequalities - Exercise Set - Page 140: 127

Answer

See explanations.

Work Step by Step

A compound inequality contains two or more inequalities in the expression, such as $a\leq 2x \leq b$. To solve compound inequalities, try to isolate the variable in the middle and add/subtract, multiply/divide (need positive numbers, otherwise, switch symbols) numbers or expressions to get a single $x$ in the middle. Alternatively, we can also solve two separate inequalities and combine the results.
