The solubility of most solids in water is greater as temperature increases. But, the increase in temperature causes an inverse effect on the solubility of gases, decreasing the solubility in water.
The solubility of a gas in a liquid is related to the pressure of that gas above the liquid. The higher this pressure, the greater the solubility.
