Bring down the first term of the coefficient $2$. Step 3. Multiply the divisor and the first coefficient to get $6$. Step 4. Add the result to the second coefficient $-3$ to get $3$. Step 5. Repeat the process to the end; the last line contains the coefficient of the quotient and the last number is the remainder.
