Chapter 10 - Geometry - 10.5 Volume and Surface Area - Exercise Set 10.5 - Page 658: 51

Answer

Does not make sense.

Work Step by Step

In geometry, a sphere may be defined as a three-dimensional solid figure having a certain set of points which are equidistant from its center. It is a round ball-like structure. The volume of a sphere can be computed with the help of the value of pie and its radius. The volume of a sphere is measured in cubic units. When a sphere is divided into two parts, then that two parts will be called hemispheres. The shape of the basketballs must be rounded. Accordingly, the basketballs being ordered by the physical education department must be in the shape of a sphere. A basketball having a shape of aright circular cylinder cannot be utilized for the purpose of playing and as a result, would not be considered appropriate for the physical education purpose as well. The basketball must be in the rounded shape as in the case of a sphere. Hence, the given statement does not make sense.
