What is Obi's theory about corruption in Nigeria? Why does he feel this way?
Obi thinks that the system will remain corrupt until the "Old Africans" who are used to both giving and receiving bribes are ousted and replaced by younger men coming out of the universities. He seems to believe that younger men are being educated in such a way that they might be morally opposed to accepting money to influence the system. This betrays a perhaps naive trust in the education system, which is heavily influenced by European philosophies.
