    Students should be able to articulate that Malcolm's remark, "chickens coming home to roost," in response to the death of Kennedy was meant to convey that the racism that manifested in the form of white supremacist violence and terror did not stop with the killing of Black people but was now also directly impacting the lives of white men like Kennedy as well. Overall, students should note that Malcolm meant to convey that the nation's overall climate of hate had paved the way for Kennedy's assassination.
