    Students will watch a historical film and write a paper analyzing the film

    This lesson will better frame the arts and cultural scene that Malcolm is coming of age in while in Boston and Harlem. Students will have an opportunity to watch a classic African American musical film, Stormy Weather. The film features several of the musical artists Malcolm references, takes place during a similar time period, and also illustrates the Lindy-hop dance style that Malcolm vividly reflects upon.
