Work Step by Step

Law of conservation of mass : This law states that mass is neither created nor destroyed in a chemical reaction. The total mass before and after chemical reaction always remains the same. Law of definite proportion: According to this law any given compound will always contain exactly the same proportion of elements by mass. For example water always contains 1g hydrogen for every 8g of oxygen. Law of multiple proportions: When two elements form a several compounds, the ratios of the mass of the second element that combines with one gram of the first element can always be reduced to small integers. For example in CO2 and CO, the mass ratios of oxygen that react with 1 g of carbon in each compound are in a 2:1 ratio.
