In order to find equivalent fractions, we multiply each fraction by one (which is allowed because anything times one is itself). However, we don't write 1; rather, we multiply by other fractions that equal one, such as 2/2, 3/3, 4/4, 5/5, 6/6, 7/7, etc. Thus, we find that ways to write 5/6 include: 10/12, 15/18, 20/24, 25/30, and 30/36.
