Answer

The answer is $\frac{7}{15}$

Work Step by Step

$\frac{2}{6}$ $\div$ $\frac{5}{7}$ ---------- 1) In order to divide fractions we need to turn the second fraction upside down and multiply the fractions together: $\frac{2}{6}$ $\div$ $\frac{5}{7}$ = $\frac{2}{6}$ x $\frac{7}{5}$ 2) We now multiply the fractions by multiplying the numerators together and multiplying the denominators together: $\frac{2}{6}$ x $\frac{7}{5}$ = $\frac{2\times 7}{6 \times 5}$ = $\frac{14}{30}$ 3) Now we can simplify the fraction by dividing the numerator and denominator by a common factor. In this case the number 2 is a common factor of 14 and 30: $\frac{14}{30}$ = $\frac{7}{15}$
