The law enforcement officers
Law enforcement officers are paradoxical characters. Instead of helping drug addicts quit their bad habits, they instead say that they are tired. When Emma returns from California, she finds her Friend crystal missing. Emma proceeds to the police to ask for help, but the law enforcement officers tell her that they have no business with drug addicts.
The irony of Emma
Emma is ironic because she does the contrary to her parent's expectations. Emma is sent to California by her parents to study medicine. Instead of concentrating on her studies, Emma leaves campus to look for employment because she wants to live a classy lifestyle. At last, Emma never graduated from university.
Crystal’s addiction
While in high school with Emma, Crystal was a promising girl who was bright and gifted in business operations. Before Emma proceeded to study medicine in California, she ran the Gentle touch business with Crystal. In fact, Crystal was in charge of operations. Ironically, Crystal's life ended up miserable when she started using opium. The business collapsed, and she went missing after she became dependent on opium.
