The Rise of Skywalker Symbols, Allegory and Motifs

Red Lightsaber

This is a traditional Star Wars symbol. The red lightsaber is symbolic of not only evil, violence, and oppression, it is also symbolic of the Empire, the First Order, and perhaps most importantly, the Sith.

Green Lightsaber

This is a traditional Star Wars symbol. The green lightsaber is symbolic of not only good, kindness, and benevolence, it is also symbolic of the Rebel Alliance and the Jedi.

Orange Lightsaber

This is a new symbol in the Star Wars universe. The orange lightsaber, which makes its debut in The Rise of Skywalker, is symbolic of Rey's new start and her unique identity.

Rey's Theme

Rey's theme is a common musical motif throughout the trilogy. Whenever Rey appears, her musical theme plays (either in an obvious or subtle way).

March of the First Order

The March of the First Order is yet another common musical theme throughout the trilogy. Whenever the First Order comes onto screen, the musical motif "March of the First Order" plays either explicitly or subtly.
