When her husband left for war, Anna documented her loneliness and her desire for him to be back safely. However, when Edward returned, things got worse for Anna. Edward came from war an extraordinary person because Anna could not understand him at all. Anna did everything possible to cheer her husband but in vain. Later, Edward died and left Anna heartbroken for the rest of her life.

    The story is entirely about love and its importance. Anna is the main character who demonstrates that love has no boundaries. Despite Edward's hard times, Anna remains strong and stays put into ensuring that her husband is happy. The author illustrates that love is more powerful than anything else in this world. More importantly, a strong woman in love must always be prayerful, determined, and good-hearted. Additionally, a truly loving woman must encourage and support her husband in all situations.

    The entire story focus on the eternal war between Britain and Egypt. Anna's husband was a soldier, and he was sent to participate in that war. While Edward was away fighting, Anna prayed and asked God to keep him safe to return home safely. However, the war environment completely changed Edward's personality. After returning from the war, Edward became a completely changed person who was not loving and, most of the time, isolated from Anna. Edward's coldness saddened Anna, and she did everything possible to cheer him up but in vain. The reader realizes that Anna's marriage became a nightmare in Anna's marriage because there was no happiness. The author's primary intention is to show the reader that war has no positive impact on society, but it just brings destruction.
