Chapter 15 - Think and Explain - Page 299-300: 64

Answer

The water absorbs more heat.

Work Step by Step

The equation $Q = cm \Delta T$ relates the heat transferred to the temperature change. Both objects start at and end up at the same temperatures. For the same mass and temperature change, the heat absorbed is greater if the specific heat capacity, c, is greater. Water has a higher specific heat capacity than metal. This is discussed on pages 290-291.
