Chapter 4 - Force and Motion - Learning Path Questions and Exercises - Exercises - Page 138: 58

Answer

a). $T>w_{2}$ and $T

Work Step by Step

$w_{1}=mg=50\times9.8=490N$ $w_{2}=Mg=100\times9.8=980N$ a). For 50kg mass body, $F-(w_{1}+T)=ma$ For 100kg mass body, $T-w_{2}=Ma$ So, $T\gt w_{2}$ and $T\lt F$ as right hand side of both equation are positive, so left side must be positive also. b). From the above 2 equations, $F=w_{1}+(m+M)a+w_{2}$ putting all values, $F=1695N$ c). From the first equation, $T=1695-490-75=1130N$
