DNA cloning is one of the techniques used to make many copies of a length of DNA. Cloning usually includes the following steps: First, the desired sequence of DNA is cut out using restriction enzymes. The DNA sequence is then pasted into a carrier ( bacterium or yeast cell) and the ends of the sequence are joined. The carrier cell will proceed to make many copies of the pasted DNA sequence. The pieces of DNA are then extracted and isolated for study.
