Chapter 7 - Section 7.1 - The Law of Sines - 7.1 Problem Set - Page 368: 20

Answer

$A=90^{\circ},a=10.9ft,c=10.6ft$

Work Step by Step

$B=14.33^{\circ},C=75.67^{\circ},b=2.72ft$ $So, A=180^{\circ}-(B+C)=180^{\circ}-(14.33^{\circ}+75.67^{\circ})=90^{\circ}$ Using laws of sines, $\frac{sin A}{a}=\frac{sin B}{b}$ $\frac{sin 90^{\circ}}{a}=\frac{sin 14.33^{\circ}}{2.72}$ So, $a=10.9 ft$ Again, $\frac{sin B}{b}=\frac{sin C}{c}$ $\frac{sin 14.33^{\circ}}{2.72}=\frac{sin75.67^{\circ}}{c}$ so, $c=10.6ft$ So, $A=90^{\circ},a=10.9ft,c=10.6ft$
