Chapter 7 - Section 7.2 - Systems of Linear Equations in Three Variables - Exercise Set - Page 832: 52

Answer

See explanations.

Work Step by Step

The system of equations can be solved by elimination or matrix methods. Note that we have 4 variables, so graphing each equation would require 4-dimensional space ($x$,$y$,$z$, and $w$). We can only graph in two dimensions or three dimensions, not four (which the human mind can not easily visualize). This is not to say that one can not come up with some type of visualization method, but generally speaking, graphing in 4 dimensions is difficult and not recommended. Hence, it is best to solve the system of equations with matrices, not graphing.
