We are asked to study the graphs of f and g at the beginning of the chapter. As we can see in the graph, g begins to increase at a faster rate that f. Thus, you could argue that g increases more quickly than f. However, since the difference is fairly minimal for low x values, you could also argue that for the x values being analyzed in earlier problems, the difference is fairly minimal.
