Use the table to plot points of the scatter plot. Comparing this scatter plot with Figure 4.24, (page 499, just before example 4), its pattern best resembles the 2nd from the left, the linear model. *Note however, that because of the last increment, (from 2000 to 2010, the increase in y is 0.7, which is greater than 0.6, the previous one) we may be justified to choose the exponential model because the slope is getting steeper) Since two increments of 10 years give the same slope, and the last is just slightly greater, we will stick with the linear model. (We would need to see what happens in 2020 to adjust our decision)
