Chapter 6 - Systems of Equations and Inequalities - Chapter Test: 1

Answer

You will get the solution of (2,-1)

Work Step by Step

First lets start by graphing the first equation: y=3x-7. In order to graph this equation we need to start (0,-7) because that is our y-intercept. Our slope is 3 so from the y intercept, we can count 3 units up and 1 unit to the right and plot our next point which is (1, -4). Continue doing the same until you need to. In order to graph the second equation: y= -x+1, start on the y intercept which is (0,1). Then, since our slope is -1, go 1 unit down and 1 unit to the right and plot that point which is (1,0). Continue doing the same until that line intersects the line of the first equation. You will get the solution of (2,-1)
