    Critique of Today

    Individual Writing

    Objective:

    Students will be able to write their own critique of an era.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.11-12.3, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.11-12.1

    Structure:

    Start this activity with a Think-Pair-Share. Write the following question on the board: How does Dostoevsky critique 19th-century Russian society in Notes from Underground? Then, instruct students to spend a couple minutes writing their thoughts on this question. After that, have students share their thoughts with a partner.
