Eddie Morra
Eddie is the main protagonist of the story. He is a highly ambitious individual, yet he lacks the drive and discipline to pursue his passion in writing his book. As a result, his ex-brother-in-law supplies him with a new nootropic drug, NZT-48, which gives him superhuman abilities. However, the drug comes with side effects, including time lapses in memory, which quickly becomes a problem that Eddie has to deal with.
Gennady
Gennady is the main antagonist in the movie. He is a loan shark who becomes involved in a sketchy business deal with Eddie, granting him a $100,000 loan with interest. However, when Eddie fails to repay him, he begins to pursue him and kill him.
Lindy
Lindy is Eddie’s main love interest. Having dated him for a few years, she decides to leave him after he makes no changes in his behavior. However, when he changes his ways after taking the drug, the two reconcile. Nonetheless, Lindy is dragged into his sketchy world and is also hunted by Gennady and his men.
