House of Mirth Lesson Plan

Bringing in Technology

Throughout the study of The House of Mirth, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments, or any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.

On Day 1, in "Art of the Gilded Age," students will use technology to research and present historic images and items.

On Day 1, in "Gossip Girl," students will create a blog and interact with other students in character.

On Day 2, in "Manners, Culture, and Dress," students will use internet databases to access archival collections.

On Day 3, in "Texts from Last Night," students will adapt a text message format to convey dialogue.
