The second part of the series opens up with Darrow under Archgovernor Augustus’s command, boarding the shuttle. The Archgovernor warns him of the Bellonas and the threat they pose to him after he killed Julian but promises to protect him. Darrow remembers his own promise to his people and is determined to keep it.
And then he discarded me as he discarded you, because we lost. You and I mirror each other.
Losing a key battle at the beginning, which was to ensure his position next to the Archgovernor, Darrow falls deeply under his favor. It is then that Jackal, the evil son, approaches him and tries to make an alliance, in which he eventually succeeds, despite the warnings Darrow receives from his friends.
What terrifies the Golds is simple cruel, and as old as mankind itself. Civil war.
Harmony separates from Sons of Ares and started her own path of bringing damage and deaths to the Golds. After trying to convince Darrow to follow her, even showing him the hidden true of Eo’s death, to add fuel to his rage, he still doesn’t see victory in blind killings of Golds, among whom are his friends. After studying them and being close to them, he realized that they are full of weaknesses among each other, so he decides to play into their hatred and orchestrate their turning against each other.

In a difficult mission to take over Mars, Darrow gives power to the Obsidian Ragnar, who was raised being taught that Golds are Gods. He gives him the razor of the Gold, and some Golds in the group complain about it, not willing to accept the change. Darrow scolds them by reminding them that he never hid the fact that his purpose is to give freedom to the enslaved and oppressed, which he is making come true at that moment and that their complaints only show their hypocrisy of wanting to believe in a dream, but not wanting to see that dream accomplished.
