    For Tamaya, why does it “[feel] confusing sometimes, having two different homes”? When else has Tamaya mentioned her parents and what does this tell us about her?

    Tamaya’s parents are divorced. When she and Marshall initially get lost in the woods, she hopes that both of her parents will come looking for her. We also learn that Tamaya’s dog, Cooper, lives with her father and “is the best part of going to her dad’s.” There is a tension between her two homes, and “the two added together didn’t quite equal a whole life.
