    What does it mean for the ergonyms to be “capable of reproduction”? Why is this significant and how might it relate to the numbers at the end of Chapter 7?

    Fitzman explains that it took many years and a lot of money to make the ergonyms capable of reproducing, meaning that they create more of themselves naturally. Students may already have learned how some organisms reproduce essentially by splitting in half. For Biolene, the number of ergonyms doubles every thirty-six minutes. Students should then make a connection back to the doubling numbers at the end of Chapter 7, the middle of Chapter 9, and so on.
