Structure and Theme Presentation

Group Work
Objective:
Students will be able to analyze the structure and one specific theme in the text.
Common Core Standards:
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.5
Structure:
To begin the activity, have students find the vignette or other portion of Citizen that resonates with them most. Then, have students do a two-minute freewrite in which they explain why that piece of the poem resonates with them. Consider telling students ahead of time that they will not be required to share.
