Study Objectives

If all of the elements of this lesson plan are employed, students will develop the following powers, skills, and understanding:

    Students will participate in a variety of activities, including discussions, artistic projects, research tasks, written assignments, role plays, and oral presentations designed to help them engage more deeply with Pollock's text.

    Students will read a variety of supplementary sources, including articles, interviews, and primary source material related to the Borden trial in order to enrich their study of Blood Relations and connect the play to the historical material on which it was based.
