Creativity

Philip is a journalist who has been tasked with writing about the American experience from the perspective of a European tourist. While driving around the great states, his creativity is blocked, and he can’t come up with any conclusive report. As soon as he decides to return to Europe, he becomes flooded with creative ideas accompanied by an unplanned companion.

Journalism

Philip is on a deadline to submit an article to his editor about the comparisons between life in America and Europe. His passion for reporting on honest journalism costs him his job. He is eventually stranded in a country that he cannot relate to. Philip ventures into the world without any idea of what he’s searching in hopes of landing the greatest story yet. The film portrays the plight of journalists all around the world as they try to provide their readers with real-life experiences that they can sincerely relate to.

Heritage

The film provides a lot of insight into both the European and American heritage. While in America, Philip has a hard time grasping the experience needed to draw up a report. It’s only after the thought of going back home can he find a common ground through which he can find comparisons with the everyday life of Europeans and Americans. Philip and Alice go on an adventure in America and Europe as they seek to find Alice’s mother and grandmother. The film pays great homage to both nations with the utmost respect and insight into the lives of the people of these two nations.
