    V attacks symbols of the British government. Parliament symbolizes the seat of power in England. The bishop symbolizes society’s connection to God and morality. Old Bailey symbolizes justice and order. V argues that these symbols, like justice, no longer serve the people. They serve a master who does harm. V also attacks symbols because he understands that a government’s ideology is stronger and more important than the actual people running the government.
