    What could Henry learn from Wilson after he returns the letters to him?

    Strong answers should take into account the fact that only Henry knows his own situation completely (that he was not wounded in the fighting, exactly, and that he retreated from the battle). They should take what they find out about Wilson and contrast that with Henry's experience, extrapolating from it a lesson about pride, courage or authenticity. They should analyze the way these two characters interact and the nature of their discussion about the battle, noting Henry's thoughts about Wilson's development. They may question why Henry has pity for a man who behaved courageously and spoke authentically....
