"My Dead Dream" is a poem in which the speaker of the poem addresses a dead dream that came out of the grave to try and disturb her peace and diminish the experience of years. It is a poem about maturing out of one's foolish childish dreams and accepting the reality as it is, as well as appreciating one's wisdom that came with the years of hardship.

In the poem "To Youth" the speaker of the poem addresses her youth which is on the brink of disappearing from her life, indicating the maturity of years and letting go of the youthful foolishness and passions. It is not a mournful parting, as shown in the last lines, where the speaker acknowledges the importance of keeping the memories of youth in her heart.

Till all my human hungers are fulfilled.

"The Poet To Death" is a poem about the fear of death. It explores the theme of death and the inability to face it, filled with regrets of not having lived, enjoyed and explored enough. It is a poem filled with grief and unsatisfied emotions in regard to life.
