Irony of Morality
Luke’s parents are perceived as morally upright by church followers. Ironically, they gave Luke $600 for Nadia’s abortion. Abortion is immoral, particularly, to the born again Christians. Luke’s father is a pastor and a figure who is respected in society. However, he, ironically, gives money for Nadia to terminate her pregnancy. Besides, the pastor requests her wife to recruit Nadia as her assistant in the church. Such a move is a betrayal to his morality. As a pastor, he should be morally opposed to the whole idea of abortion. Thus, it is ironic for a pastor to approve abortion.
Irony of Inebriation
Nadia’s behavior of drinking alcohol when she is underage is ironic. Underage persons are prohibited from taking alcohol. Ironically, Nadia is regularly spotted in strip clubs taking alcohol despite being young. Sometimes Nadia misses classes intentionally and opts to go to bars to take liquor. Skipping classes in order to drink alcohol is ironic for school-going children.
Irony of Virtue
Lukas is a pastor’s son. Hence, he is expected to be guided by virtues instilled by his parents. Ironically, Lukas dates an underage and goes ahead to impregnate her. As if that is not enough, he helps Nadia to terminate her pregnancy. Such iniquities should not be associated with a person who has been raised in a Christian family. By virtue of his family, Lukas should demonstrate high moral standards. Ironically, he chooses to behave wicked.
