The sense of sight is depicted to readers when Leo describes the surrounding environs and the sky. Leo says, "Then one day I was looking out the window. Maybe I was contemplating the sky. The Imagery of Hearing
Leo's description of his house depicts the sense of hearing to readers. For instance, Leo says that his house is so tiny that he can not move around freely. He continues to say that if Bruno comes knocking on his door, he will let him in and continue listening to the invisible crowd ringing in his ears. Leo says, “If it happens to be Bruno, I let him in without a word and then jog back to the bed, the roar of the invisible crowd ringing in my ears.”
The imagery of attention
Leo is an individual who does everything possible to attract attention because he wants to be seen and recognized. Leo’s strong urge for attention depicts the sense of sight to readers. Leo says, "I try to make a point of being seen. Sometimes when I am out, I will buy a juice even though I am not thirsty. If the store is crowded, I'll even go as far as dropping my change all over the floor, the nickels and the dimes skidding in every direction."
The imagery of nude girls
As Leo is walking around, he sees an advert that needs nude models for drawing classes. Leo is interested, and he calls the number to offer himself the task. When he goes home, he describes the advert to Bruno. Bruno asks him if he can see the girls' boobs and down there. Bruno asks Leo, "They show their boobs and down there?” Bruno’s inquisitiveness depicts the sense of sight to readers.
