Margie's Vision of the Old Kind of School
Irony is one of the central literary elements in "The Fun They Had." Margie imagines the old kind of school as a fun environment and community. Today's readers, and Asimov's contemporaries, know that children who experience this type of education do not necessarily agree with Margie.
