    On the cusp of a second famine, how does the community react? How does this affect William personally? What connection do you think there is between science, magic, and superstitions?

    While people in William's area had blamed the 2002 famine on the government for selling their maize surplus, they blame the second approaching famine on magic. William explains that superstitions are still widely held throughout the country. So much so, that the government had to publically deny working with vampires and that the people lament the constitution doesn't have a clause to protect them from witchcraft. That people are blaming magic and not weather for their failing crops...
