Work Step by Step

According to the photon model of light, the energy of light is quantized. That is E_{n}=nhf Each individual quantum of energy (hf) is proportional to the frequency of light (f). Since the frequency of red light is smaller than X-rays, the quantum of energy of red light is smaller than that of X-rays. Intensity is defined as energy transported in unit time per unit area. High intensity means more quantum of energy transported in unit time per unit area. So beam of red light with very high intensity carries more power (power is energy in unit time) per unit area than the beam of X-rays with low intensity. It is more dangerous to stand in front of the beam of red light with high intensity.
