Answer

The elements towards the left of the periodic table conduct electricity, show malleability and ductility, have lustrous appearance and are termed as metals. while those towards the right do not conduct electricity, neither show malleability nor ductility and are termed as non-metals. the two classes of substance meet at a diagonal line running from boron to polonium, which constitute the metalloids, with properties intermediate between those of metals and non-metals. Metals . They are found towards the left of the periodic table. The periodic table is divided into s, p, d, and f blocks. The members of the d block (specifically the members of Groups 3–11) are also known as the transition metals; those of the f block are sometimes called the inner transition metals. The upper row of the f block (Period 6) consists of the lanthanoids and the lower row (Period 7) consists of the actinoids.
