Since each carbon is already making 2 bonds, they will have 2 hydrogens each, to complete 4. - The Line Structure. Since the only molecules are carbon and hydrogen, and there are no double or triple bonds, the structure of a cyclooctane is just an octagon. - Molecular Formula: Simple cyclo saturated hydrocarbons are described by this general formula. $C_nH_{2n}$ Since it is a cyclo$oct$ane, n = 8. $C_8H_{16}$
