Molecular Formula: $C_8H_{16}$ Lewis (left) and line (right) structure:

Work Step by Step

- The Lewis Structure. 1. Draw 8 carbons making a circle, with single bonds represented by 2 electrons. 2. Add the hydrogens. Since each carbon is already making 2 bonds, they will have 2 hydrogens each, to complete 4. - The Line Structure. Since the only molecules are carbon and hydrogen, and there are no double or triple bonds, the structure of a cyclooctane is just an octagon. - Molecular Formula: Simple cyclo saturated hydrocarbons are described by this general formula. $C_nH_{2n}$ Since it is a cyclo$oct$ane, n = 8. $C_8H_{16}$
