Chapter 5 - Gases - Questions & Problems - Page 215: 5.2

Answer

Please see the work below.

Work Step by Step

The following are the physical characteristics of gases. 1. Gases consist of a large number of small particles that are far apart from each other. 2. Gas particles are in continuous random motion. 3. During random motion, gas particles collide with each other, and the collision is known as an elastic collision (meaning that there is no net loss of kinetic energy). 4. The intermolecular forces of attraction in gas particles are weaker compared to liquids or solids.
