Chapter 2 - Matter and Change - 2.2 Mixtures - 2.2 Lesson Check - Page 41: 17

Answer

To separate a mixture of a solid and a liquid you would use filtration. When you have two or more liquids with different boiling points you would use distillation .

Work Step by Step

Filtration is the process by which a mixture it passed through filter paper and the water is filtered leaving the solid behind so they separate a solid and a liquid. Distillation is the process where we boil the solution to get the substance as precipitate so we use that to separate two or more liquids with different boiling points.
