Chapter 2 - Matter and Change - 2.2 Mixtures - 2.2 Lesson Check - Page 41: 13

Answer

Some types of properties that can be used to separate mixtures are Distillation, filtration, and magnetism.

Work Step by Step

Distillation is the process of heating a liquid to purify it. By boiling the water can be evaporated leaving only the precipitate, thus separating the substances. By filtration small substances can be filtered from solutions, separating the substances from the solution. In magnetism, the use of magnets can be used to separate charged substances from uncharged substances.
