Answer

. b Growth hormone(STH/or GH) is released by the anterior pituitary gland ( AP).

Work Step by Step

The anterior pituitary gland (AP) releases growth hormone (GH) as well as thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), adrenocorticotropin (ACTH), and gonadotropins (FSH, and (LH) . The AP also secretes prolactin. Melanocyte stimulating hormone (MSH) is produced in the AP but also in other places. The posterior pituitary gland (PP) stores antidiuretic hormone (ADH) and oxytocin(OTC) hormones The neurosecretory neurons of the hypothalamus secrete pituitary hormone releasing factors/hormones (HRH), possibly a hormone inhibitory factor (HIH), oxytocin, and antidiuretic hormone. The adrenal cortex secretes glucocorticoids, a mineralocorticoid, and gonadocorticoids ( estrogens and androgens); the adrenal medulla secretes catecholamines -- epinephrine and norepinephrine.
